Max's Restaurant Cuisine of the Philippines

Very Filipino as you enter! The smell of fried chicken and everything fried and sour. There are two long tables with party of at least 15 people each. Every staff member is Filipino. You feel the Filipino hospitality. The price is a little pricier than typical turo turo Filipino restaurants . They do try to upsell everything - I ordered water and they indicated they have calamansi juice. I ordered the classic pork sisig and upsold the pork kawali sisig. They charge separate for rice! Service was left to be desired - they don’t go around to check in on you, I had to call their attention for more water. Value - My meal came out to $24. Nothing special about their food. Not worth it, go to only at Renee’s for better food.

Food is great! Even our American Chinese friend loved it especially the sisig and fried bangs. Excellent customer service. Honey is very attentive to us during our lunch. She went above and beyond. We appreciate her thoughtfulness while we are there.

We loved dining at Max’s Restaurant! Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked, flavorful and left us wanting more. Most important of all, my Filipino mom gave it her approval. Our waitress was Honey, she was so sweet and attentive and really made us feel like family. We had a fantastic time because of her!

Through the years, I've visited different Max's Restaurant locations in the USA. So far, none of them disappoints, especially this one in lovely Virginia Beach, which will always be my hometown, having lived there for so many years until I moved westward to the Chicago area. I have dined in twice, but the third time was extra special. Last June, the management at Max's Virginia Beach was able to accommodate space for my family and friends just in time for a reception after my brother's funeral. The food served was delicious, satisfying those in attendance, and there were plenty of selections to choose from in the buffet-style dinner.
