McAlister's Deli

I ordered a "Giant" spud, chicken, bacon, ranch. No ranch add extra chicken and chili. I got 2 little potatoes so hard and stale my knife wouldn't cut through it. I asked the girl when she delivered it if it had and chicken on it at all. This was $21 Bridgeton, Missouri

The McAlister’s Club with steamed broccoli and an Arnold Palmer (sweet tea + lemonade) is my cheat code for a solid lunch that feels like a treat but doesn’t leave me sluggish. The sandwich is always stacked just right — fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, crispy bacon, tender meats, and the cheddar/mayo combo is on point. The steamed broccoli on the side makes me feel like I halfway made a healthy choice 😂. Plus, when I don’t feel like cooking or waiting in long lines, this is my default. Hits every time. 📸 Photos don’t lie — it’s giving lunch done right.

We like this location because of the tasty food and decent portion size, even for the pick 2. Well today changed that. The portion sizes shrunk immensely and what was provided was embarrassing. I ordered to go and after I picked it up at the counter I thought the bag felt light. Went back in and let them know they forgot a bowl of soup and all the dressings for the salads. An employee said she just made it but it clearly was forgotten. We won’t be eating at this location for some time. Hopefully it gets better but it was ridiculous for the price we pay. The pictures say it all. The salads were tasteless and that is usually not the case. The employees weren’t bothered by the fact that they actually had to work and that the order was wrong.

I typically order via GrubHub, but had some summer interns this year that I wanted to take to lunch, and McAlister’s was the place of choice. Apparently the male interns had been visiting quite often. It was a very clean restaurant, nice employees and the food was just as good as it is every time I order it, I just had the experience of having them plate it and bring it to my table this time. 😉 And I ran into a friend’s mom that I had not seen in months and got a chance to get one of her signature hugs. If good people like that love the place, it’s definitely another good reason to come back.
