McGovern's Family Restaurant and Banquet Facility

We ordered takeout 🥡 on a Saturday night. My Grandmother got a stuffed quahog, my Son had the Fish & Chips, & I had the Boneless Fried Chicken Dinner all White Meat with Coleslaw & Fries. Everyone loved their food and ate it all up. The order placement was easy when I called in my order as an online order was almost $4 extra each dish. Restaurant when picking up the order was super easy . Food for the amount and considering the place is worth it. The vibe feels comforting and like home. The place was clean from what I could see. I will definitely order from this place again in the future as a treat. I got the carrot cake as a dessert. It was super yummy creamy and delicious. So many different desserts to choose from. The fish and chips had an excellent amount of batter and fish was flak

We had a wedding and then a birthday party here within 5 months. Both times were great and Kathy Mcgovern is a great planner that's willing to work with you and has very fair pricing with the highest intentions of making your party the best it could be! This is one of those family restraunts that's atmosphere makes you feel at home and I truly hope it stays open for a very long time! I would just like to mention that we were referred to mcgoverns for our wedding by 2 other friends that also had weddings here. The one thing I hear all the time is- "man, you guys had the best wedding,I haven't had a great time like that in years". We highly recommend mcgoverns and will be back for sure!

Wonderful family restaurant. The chicken rice soup was homemade and delicious! Mario had the bourbon steak tips YUM, mom had the Reuben sandwich that will feed her for a week and I had the coconut shrimp with pina cola da sauce. SO GOOD! Just wish the beets were served warm. Other than that we'll be back. 😋

My family and I attended the New Year’s Eve gala at Mcgoverns and the room was decorated beautifully. The staff worked continuously to make sure everything was taken care of and clean throughout the night. The dinner itself was great. The midnight breakfast was such a great idea and I appreciated the midnight snack. The hypnotist show was very interesting fun experience that kept me laughing. The DJ did a wonderful job keeping the guests busting a move on the dance floor. The bartenders Skyla & Kim were wonderful and very entertaining throughout the night. The drinks were delicious and the service was fast. Overall great experience will be back next year!

This has been my favorite restaurant for 20 years, but the last few times I’ve gone the food was not good! Scallops were tasteless, fish was not cooked properly and the prices have gone way up! I realize prices need to reflect the times, but with these prices Id expect a nicer restaurant atmosphere. The place hasn’t done any kind of updating in forever. Wonder if they’re new owners?
