they specialize in only one thing: chicken rice, and they do it well. the food came out super quickly, and it was honestly perfect for a cold day. the star of the dish is the rice - such flavorful ginger rice. it’s a fast casual place with only a few tables to sit down, so i recommend getting it to-go, especially on a busier day.
ME Chicken Rice in the West Village is a hidden gem if you’re craving Thai-style chicken rice. I ordered the steamed chicken rice and it was tender, juicy, and paired perfectly with the fragrant ginger rice and flavorful sauces. The broth on the side was light but comforting, and the portion size was just right. The place itself is small and casual, more of a quick-stop or takeout spot, but the food really stands out for its authenticity and taste. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, and service was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area and want something satisfying and different from the usual.
incredibly reliable chicken rice. service is quick and efficient, tables are always clean, and the broth (with slices of tender radish) is heart-warming. love this place!
So good, very authentic. Low key and just what you need on a cold day in the city. Each time I go, it gets better. The consistency shows.
Nothing beats the taste of a small, family run, mom and pop restaurant because it’s the taste of home, care and love. This is the place to find that taste. I love the Thai chicken rice, in which the chicken is cooked with care, tender yet chewy with the right balance. But the overall street vibe is what sets it apart. I love hearing the Thai language spoken in the back and the laughters that permeate in the space. They also serve super fast, like lightening fast!
