Mendoza Restaurant

Im Salvadorian and moved to Bayonne from Queens NY where there’s nothing but amazing Hispanic food! This restaurant is one of the only ones in Bayonne that makes me feel like home. The pupusas are so good ! I was here a few days ago and I’d gladly come again and again. They are made to order so you do have to wait a bit but if you’re in a rush they have a great selection for their hot bar food which is also great my husband loves their sopa de res !

I used to like getting pupusas here, but I reached a point where it’s not even worth it anymore. When I’ve gone in there in the past they have treated me like they were annoyed I was even there, so this last time I ordered on the phone. They wouldn’t take my order because I didn’t speak Spanish and I got my friend to help. When I got my food the delivery man was really nice, so he got a star. The pupusas were fine, the tamale was ok, and the tres leches cake had mold on it. I threw the cake away and the rest of the pupusas because I was so grossed out. I’m not ordering from here again.

I’ve had the pupusas many times from here, and I’ve never had any issues with the food. Everything is always tasty. However, as for the service, it’s not the best and almost every time I try to call to make an order they NEVER pick up the phone. It has happened multiple times already, and when I show up to the store they’re not even busy. Whoever is in charge needs to look into this.

I've had their food several times now through delivery, and so far, no complaints. The pupusas are great, the soft tacos and tacos dorados were amazing!
