Mercy Health Mercy Campus: Emergency Room

My Mother was having a HEARTATTACK, they gave her 8 Baby aspirins and her pain eased up. They gave her 2 EKGs and came back and told us NO HEARTATTACK! It was Pleurisy they claimed. Sent her home after 6 hours with Lidacaine Patches and Motrin. The family looked in her MYCHART and see the she had MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. They sent her home with pain patch for a damn HEARTATTACK. Then to top it off the SECURITY GUARD refused to let her family in because she said it wasn't an emergency and she "Couldn't believe all this FAMILY is for 1 person." There were 8 in total but never at the same time. We were trying to be considerate and only have 3 or 4 at a time. This is in waiting room mind you. I watched at least 4 other families have 6-8 people at one time. We were treated disgusting and with NO

Incredibly LONG waiting period to be taken care of. Please, if you can, save yourself time a visit another emergency room that has better sense of urgency.

I waited for three hours and they seen me three times separately for vitals, take some blood the next time, and an x ray the third time. Had an iv in my arm for like 2 hours, waiting in the waiting room. And then they said there is a five hour wait time depending on your condition. That’s crazy. They need some more doctors and nurses there desperately. I left after waiting three hours. I feel bad for all the nurses and docs there and the patients. The staff was friendly though and patient and were doing their best.

I came into the emergency room as directed by my surgeon following a gallbladder removal for a possible bile leak and a level 9/10 pain. Current wait was 7 hours. After an hour and a half they did an ultrasound and kicked me back to the waiting room. While waiting in the waiting room, I got the results that there was no leak but irritation. Having my results already, I waited two more hours in severe pain and decided to ask a nurse to remove my IV and left. I know they are trying their best but bottom line, it is not enough. They are set up to fail

Waiting over 4 hours on average is normal here. it shouldn't even be called emergency room.. Just make the drive to Grand Rapids or Holland and you'll still be seen quicker even with the drive. These people don't care about you at all and your wellbeing.
