Mike & Mel’s Family Restaurant

We were on our way back from Dover to Westover and decided we wanted Diner food with a quiet atmosphere, after a brief google search we were brought to Mike and Mel’s Family Restaurant. We were seated right away and our waitress came to take our order. After a short wait our food arrived and we were blown away at the quality and portion size we received . The best Chipped beef gravy I’ve ever had ! Service was great . It doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that deter you from stopping in.

Finally stopped into Mike & Mel’s and I’m so glad I did. It gives bit of a hole in the wall type look, but honestly, those are always the best spots. The portions are perfect. I honestly could barely finish my plate of food and the prices actually make sense for once. It’s just a cozy, local vibe where you can tell the staff actually cares. I would highly recommend anybody to come here.

Had breakfast here with a group of friends a day after an engagement party. It is a nice little place tucked away in Delaware. The service was good considering we had a big party. Not too many places still have cream chipped which was very good and eggs scrambled just right. I'll go again.

Mike and Mel's is a family restaurant with a robust menu. Cuisine is designed for a curiously local pallet. I ordered the roast beef platter and was surprised to receive three slices of lunch meat under gravy. 😖 The milkshakes are very good. Not recommended for those with a pallet that desires solid or bold flavor.

Staff was super nice and made us all feel welcome. My group of four enjoyed an old fashioned meal with what's sadly now old fashioned service. The chicken cordon bleu sandwich on a pretzel roll was delish!
