I’ve been coming here since they first opened and I’m a member as well. You can really tell how much they’ve improved over time — everything just keeps getting better. The food quality and service have both stepped up a lot, and it’s clear the team actually cares about what they’re doing. The wagyu is high quality, there’s a great selection, and the food comes out fast. Overall, a solid all-you-can-eat wagyu shabu-shabu spot that I’m happy to keep coming back to.
I was really excited when I heard that Mikiya finally opened in NYC since I had such a great experience at their California location and heard so many good things about it from friends. Unfortunately, I left a bit disappointed after my visit here. My group ordered the Diamond Set, and given the price point, we were expecting to be wowed. Instead, many items fell short. The seafood hibachi (abalone, scallop, shrimp) and the wagyu rib eye brisket shoulder were overcooked, which really took away from the enjoyment. The wagyu rib eye was especially disappointing--the waitress didn't even ask how we wanted it cooked, and it came out so overdone that I could only bring myself to eat one piece. Such a waste considering the quality of the cut. The wagyu tartare with avocado also missed the mark.
came during valentine’s day & ik it was super busy. however, it was our first time there so we weren’t familiar with the ordering process; the waitress basically just ordered for us and went super fast, we were kinda lost. i wish she had asked if it was our first time there and explained what she was ordering… be so careful with the dishes the meats come in, my partner was trying to separate them since they were suctioned tight and accidentally knocked into his drink and split it on himself. there isn’t a large selection of vegetables & unfortunately, it does take them a long while to replace things that go out of stock such as the drink station, but once again, i understand it was busy. overall, nothing outstanding but nothing terrible either. maybe i’m just spoiled by sukiyaki from japan
The beef hot pot here is absolutely amazing! 🩷🩷🩷 Everything is fresh and full of flavor. The staff are super attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. I’m obsessed with the beef, and the oysters are unbelievably fresh. you don’t even need a dipping sauce because the meat and seafood taste incredible on their own. I’ll definitely be back!
Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House has been my go-to spot in Flushing since they opened, consistently delivering some of the freshest seafood and highest quality cuts in the area. While the Diamond Tier ($98) was once an unbeatable value, it’s important to note that they no longer offer Norwegian lobster or lobster tail at all, and the specialty dishes are now limited to 5 per person. Because of these changes, the Gold Tier ($78) is definitely the best value for most people now, though lobster remains limited to the initial serving regardless of which tier you choose. The service was the absolute highlight of the night—a perfect 5/5 for being attentive and professional—while the atmosphere earned a solid 4/5 and the food a 3/5 due to the menu scale-backs. I’ll definitely be back for the quality, but
