Very nice out-of-the-way surprise. Excellent food and very reasonable for the price, especially with In-Kind available. The salad was superb, as was the sushi bowl dish. Duck dish was a little light in the serving. Edamame was very good. Service was a bit awkward at the bar and the vibe is a bit strange, not really New York, but the crowd at the sushi bar seemed extremely happy. Definitely going back.
In love!! The service is exemplary, and the cuisine is exceptionally flavorful. Came here for an evening outing with my friends. We had a 6:45 reservation and arrived slightly early, so we ordered some of their signature cocktails at the bar, which were marvelous. My choice of poison was their Match Old Fashioned; it was not overly infused with matcha, but maintained an impeccable balance! It was a fantastic experience for all of my friends who had the chef's tasting/omakase. Unfortunately, I'm not a sushi person, but they assured me that the rice, fish, and sauce were perfectly prepared. Exceptionally fresh! They had such a wide variety of dishes that even someone like myself who isn’t a fan of sushi could enjoy an outstanding meal. One of the reasons I truly appreciate this establishmen
Consistently one of the best omakase’s I’ve had in NYC. (And I’ve been to a lot!). The quality of fish, rice, and ingredients is top tier. Fish is seasonal, comes from Japan, and sourced by Chef Mark himself. You can tell chef cares about his craft—he even makes his own soy sauce. Incredible value.
Really enjoyed this dish! The chirashi bowl was great and everything tasted super fresh. The fish was high quality, the toppings were generous, and all the flavors worked really well together. Every bite was satisfying and felt well balanced. The drink was also refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. Overall, a great experience with good food and nice presentation. Would definitely come back again 😊
This review is about the sushi Omakase at the sushi counter. The Sushi Omakase at Mishik is the equal of the best in NYC. At a much better price! Mark the owner and itamae (sushi chef) sources great seasonal fish from Japan. He then ages it in the tradition of the great sushi counters. He makes his own soya sauce which is much finer and less salty than any commercial soya and finally makes perfect rice. Omakase can be a lot more more expensive but it doesn’t get much better than this. Highly recommend.
