After trying all the Malatang restaurants in the Bay Area, I can say this one is the best I've had! Their ingredients are very fresh and clean, and there are many choices. I can freely combine my favorite vegetables and meats, and then choose a flavor I like. I found that every flavor they have is delicious, probably because their soup is simmered. In summary, it's a very cost-effective restaurant!
The food was amazing! It's make your own food! There are 80 + ingredients you can choose from. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. The service is great and they were helpful in choosing what type of base you want for your food. I will definitely come back
Small and cozy store that was great for my first Malatang experience. Wide selection of vegetables, meats and noodles to add into the broth. They had 3 broth selections including their signature bone broth, mala broth and tomato broth. Portions are priced by the pound with each pound at $15. Service was quick – upon ordering and paying, my malatang came out within 5 minutes. Their sauce bar was small with the selection of soy sauce or peanut sauce with complementary chili oil, green onions, and white garlic to enhance the flavor. I got the signature bone broth with medium spice and it had a good numbing spiciness to it. I wished I could taste more of the bone broth flavor because the spice was too dominant. My favorite components of the malatang were the beef shank, shoulder and black an
Love this place! It's a newly opened restaurant, so everything is very clean. The staff is super friendly and gave us great suggestions based on our personal preferences. I tried the signature bone broth, and my friend had the Mala Dry Mix. The soup was rich and flavorful, but I could still taste the original ingredients' natural flavors. The beef and vegetables looked fresh. I’ll definitely come back next time to try the Mala Dry Mix myself!
Still thinking about that signature bone broth—creamy, deep, and just spicy enough. Everything came out perfectly cooked. My friend’s sizzling plate seems also a great choice. Service was fast, staff actually cared about my spice tolerance. About $25 each and I’m already craving round two.
