Try it, and your mornings will never be the same. In the city where the Baconeggandcheese reigns supreme. This Peruvian breakfast spot delivers a refreshing standout: the Chicharron and Camote sandwich, a hearty hero that outshines my go-to American sandwich with bolder flavors and greater satisfaction. Crispy pork belly meets sweet potato, elevated by a dash of their in-house hot sauce. To-go I also took a hot coffee and empanada—its flaky, butter-cookie-like dough is a perfect match for the brew. The owners, tending the counter themselves, offered kind guidance for my first Peruvian breakfast, making the experience all the warmer.
What a wonderful waitress! So nice. This is a classic simple diner that does the basic breakfast and lunch menu really well. Inexpensive prices, fast service.
New York is a cultural melting pot, so you can find 100 restaurants with the same type of food in the city. That being said, there is something about the food here that can't be compared with other cafes. The food is spectacular! The attention from the staff is friendly. Even the first time I went I felt like a regular. Maybe I'm biased because I love Peruvian food, but the Amercian style breakfast is also really good. Lastly, for being in New York, the prices are reasonable. You'll think so even more when you taste it. The quality of the food far exceeds the price you pay. I've been to cafes as far as Milan and London to Bennington, Nebraska. Trust me...eat here once, and you'll want to come back.
The lady at the front is very friendly and speaks Spanish and English. I’ve been there twice so far, food was tasty, and plan to keep coming back.
We came in this morning to buy alfajores and a few other items for family. The bakery was extremely hot — no AC or fan — and NYC is in the middle of a heatwave. It’s unsanitary to keep cookies, cakes, and pastries out in that kind of heat, especially since they contain milk and dairy. These items should be stored in the display fridge. We spent nearly $40 and had asked for the cookies/alfajores from the display fridge, but were handed the ones from the counter instead. They were stale and tasted off — likely from being left out in the heat too long. We also got some empanadas, but few were the wrong flavors, and the staff didn’t seem sure which was which. Labeling or using different shapes would definitely help. Overall, a disappointing experience — especially after traveling a long way
