Mokbar By Esther Choi

You gotta keep in mind that you're a captive audience in a casino that's trying their hardest to fleece you at every turn. Is there waaaay better Asian food at waaaay better prices a few blocks away on Spring Mountain? Yeah, of course. But for $23 total at a strip casino, the bulgogi bowl was pretty decent. Reasonable quantity of meat, veggies, and rice - nobody should be eating a larger meal than this anyway. I wouldn't build my night around a meal from this place, but in a drunken pinch it'll definitely do. The reviews are a little too harsh.

Mokbar is a Korean spot headlined by Esther Choi so we were pretty excited to give it a try and see what kind of flavors our bowl would bring. This spot is conveniently located in the Celebrity Food Hall right before the Forum Shops but the food court can get busy so be aware of that. We ordered kimchi ramen and fried pork dumplings. Ordering was quick and you get a buzzer to come pick up your food when it’s ready so we went to sit and wait in the meantime. The food did end up taking a bit longer than expected and it didn’t seem too busy upfront so be aware of that. We did eventually get our food and it looked pretty good so we were excited to dive in and here’s what we found: The kimchi ramen has a nice punch, the broth is very colored and rich in flavor with a bit of spice. I really enjoyed this spot located in the Caesar’s Palace food court. The vegan ramen tasted amazing with the crispy tofu. The vegan dumplings were equally as good with the soy dipping sauce. Overall, great filling meal. A+

There's no meat in this ramen. It's just a couple of chewed-up bits, as if someone had given me some of their half-eaten soup and simply added bouillon. I was so unpleasantly surprised when I saw these disgusting, chewed-up bits in my bowl that I felt sick. I ate empty noodles until I got halfway through the soup and started looking for meat. I found a small piece, about the size of the lard I'm holding in the photo. I couldn't find any more meat in the soup. Were there any other small, chewed-up, disgusting bits? They're also in the photo. When I finished one piece of meat and started looking for it again, I found only chewed, disgusting little bits that someone had apparently spat into the soup. I felt incredibly disgusted. I couldn't eat any more and went to the bathroom to throw up. Wh

I enjoyed the salmon avocado dish. Needed a bit more mixed greens and a bigger sauce, so a 3/4 cup instead of the half. Did I like being right by the casino? No. Still really enjoyed, would have just taken it somewhere else to eat. Not a them problem tho. That was SO delicious tho so it's slight changes for me.
