We stopped in for lunch. Had a great waitress. An excellent food. I had the white fish basket. The best white fish I’ve had since being in upper Michigan and the UP. My wife got the pretzel bun burger with their special cheese sauce, which was outstanding. And our waitress made the experience all the more great. This is directly across the street from the Soo Locks. After lunch, we just walked over and watched a couple of gigantic ships coming in and out of the locks.
We came across this place by recommendations and from research. Needless to say we were very impressed! The service was very friendly and prompt! Also very knowledgeable about the beers, and was ready with the recommendations on what to order. The food…..OMG! I had the Crack Chicken wrap and my boyfriend had the Rueben. We were both very happy and impressed with the size and presentation. We now have decided to make this a must when we visit again! The atmosphere is your typical bar and was spacious and very well lit.
First time here and will return when in the area. Found it searching Google maps. Laid back bar atmosphere. Pool table. Friendly staff and not overbearing when it came to eating on us and checking if we needed anything. The food was DELICIOUS. We had the Reuben fries, amazing. Husband had the international burger with fries and I had the garlic butter burger. Very good food and great staff.
We come to the U.P. every year for the I-500, and this restaurant somehow gets worse every single year. This visit was the final straw. We were there for over 2 hours. It took 30 minutes just to get our drinks, and our appetizers never even came out while other tables around us were receiving their full meals. We were the first ones in the bar and then watched multiple tables who arrived well after us get their food within about 45 minutes, while we were still waiting. There was absolutely no reason we shouldn’t have been in and out. The food was awful. The chicken quesadilla had fried chicken in it, which was not stated anywhere and completely ruined it. We also ordered the chicken tacos from their “Soo I-500 special,” and they were tiny, deep-fried, appetizer-sized tacos that were clear
We stopped here for lunch. The beer cheese burger was delicious. We did not enjoy the pretzel and beer cheese because the pretzel tasted like it had been deep fried. I did enjoy that they had hard cider options.
