Mom's Kitchen

My wife and I stopped into Mom’s Kitchen this morning on our way to White Sands National Park. And, we are very happy we stopped here for breakfast. The service was excellent. My wife had the eggs, asada, potatoes, and beans. She really enjoyed her meal. I had the chorizo/egg omelet, potatoes, and beans. It was excellent. I also had some homemade verde sauce which was very tasty. Before leaving, we had a great talk with Mom. Of course, they were wrapping up pecan brownies and banana nut bread they had just pulled out of the oven. They looked really good so we got two pecan brownies. They were great. We highly recommend stopping in for a meal at Mom’s kitchen. You will not be disappointed and will enjoy a conversation with the owner’s.

Perfect little spot for a great breakfast. I loved my chorizo and egg! Don't be fooled by google maps - they are easy to find, but not out by McDonald's. Mom's is about 2 blocks from the Desert Inn where we stayed. It's on Tx 54 just a little north of El Capitan. And don't forget to grab a fresh baked brownie!💜

This is a little diamond in the desert 🏜 Only 4 tables but the BEST food in town!!! Don't waste your time going to a chain restaurant, at Mom's kitchen you will truly feel like you're eating at home! My family and I loved it. I had the Menudo (we happened to stop by on a Sunday), my husband had the chorizo and egg plate, and my kids had the pancakes. 💯 recommended 👌. Maybe to only thing I would replace is the bottled orange juice for a fresh one.

The kind of place every mom and pop should aspire to be. We absolutely destroyed the egg & chorizo plate, the egg & asada plate, and don't get me started on the pancakes. Everything clearly homemade from scratch with love. And they were so patient with my stir-crazy toddler who was acting up from the two day road trip.

The food here was delicious and authentic and the portions were large and very well-priced. “Mom” was so sweet and attentive. If we’re ever driving through this part of Texas again we will definitely come back. Highly recommend.
