Beautiful Polynesian-themed restaurant serving classic Chinese-American favorites. I ordered the stir-fried beef with green beans from the lunch specials, and it was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is known for its timeless dishes like orange-flavored beef, spicy pork, and Kung Pao-style meats—comforting staples done right. If you’re craving a nostalgic, satisfying meal in a fun, tropical setting, this place is definitely worth a visit.
The color of the food they gave me is complete charcoal. I’m gonna report it to the health department. This place was so great and now they’re selling black food like my Chinese food is completely black. That means oil burned. That’s mean somebody doesn’t know how to cook absolutely disgrace. Do not get close to this place. It used to be one of my favorite.
I had the beef and bean curd (Tofu). The food was cooked fine, beef could have been slightly more tender. But it was the most bland Chinese food I had ever had, I do not know how they manage to achieve the appropriate color while being so flavorless. You couldn't even taste soy sauce, let alone ginger or any spices or other flavors you would typically find in Chinese cuisine. Something positive I could say is the portion size was large I also had the chicken fingers and beef teriyaki which were no more than acceptable typical Americanized Chinese food
We were visiting friends that lived in the area and booked a reservation for dinner here. We have been here a couple of times, decades ago. It's a large Chinese restaurant with your typical Chinese Polynesian fare. There was a fountain in the lobby area and the people working there were friendly. My husband got a scorpion bowl to share and it was good, a nostalgic drink. For food, I opted for the appetizer combo which came with chicken wings, crab rangoons, fried rice, and boneless spare ribs. Everything was good except for the boneless spare ribs; it was dry and flavorless. The other items saved this dish, so I gave them 3 stars overall.
The atmosphere is what really makes it worth visiting. The service was also excellent! I found some of the food was really done well. The Baby Back Ribs were cooked perfectly. They had a great char and were very tender. They make solid finger food appetizers. Not bursting with flavor, but they weren't bad. The Lobster Sauce had the old school texture and plenty of pork. It was good, but lacking flavor. The Hot and Sour Soup was much different than the traditional Hot and Sour Soup. It was sweet and tangy. Overall the experience was good. I think it's the atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
