Morelia's Mexican Restaurant & Tortilleria

I called in an order for cheese and pepper tamales, 2 dozen of them. They were awful, ended up throwing away 20 of them. I don't know what kind of cheese they use but it was rubbery and all one big chunk. The other 4 we picked the nasty cheese out and just ate the peppers.

Best barbacoa I've had anywhere. They make the tortillas in house (for tons of the other restaurants and mercados in town too) and everything I've tried there has been outstanding.

I like trying new places but this one was so highly rated I took a friend. Was soo disappointed! Food was dry and over cooked. Burnt on bottom. My friends food was worse than mine. Photo looks better than taste! Waitress was young girl nice and friendly when taking order. Then disappeared. Would not recommend. Not busy. Except for making tortillas in other room. Everything over cooked even freshly fried chips. Could chip a tooth. Thick and hard.

Always have tamales on hand to take home. And Im able to preorder large orders of tamales for parties! Dont forget the red sauce!

Excellent just as we anticipated it would be. Torta asada was super fresh, steak was tender. Carnitas platter with fresh corn tortillas and their salsa was delicious!
