Mountain Mama's Tavern & Sports Bar

I never write a bad review. The server was awesome. She did the best she could. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. That's not an exaggeration. There was only one other table in the place when we ordered. It did fill up but it took our food AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES! My sister's food was awful. Mine wasn't great either. The wings were good. This was my sister's Italian hoagie. I hate writing bad reviews but this place needs help.

It was so nice eating at a place that truly feels like home-cooked food. Everything is fresh every day, the sauces are unique and delicious, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The owner is there, cares about the customers, and genuinely wants to make sure you have a great experience. The atmosphere feels welcoming — almost like heaven. We’ll definitely be back.

I was passing through Morgantown, WV on my way back to Ohio. I was getting hungry & wanted something to eat. I decided on Mountain Mama, which wasn’t to hard to find. It is definitely a restaurant / bar that appears to be super popular. The outside dining area was packed for a Saturday night. Inside was pretty empty with the exception of the bar area. Our host greeted us with a warm simple and seated us quickly at a table. The seating options were table, hi top table, bar or outside. Our server came over and welcomed us. He took our drink orders & gave us menus. I did again notice how busy this place was, the bar area was full of patrons & a line had formed for the carry out orders. Our server returned with our drinks & took our food order, he thank us for our patience as they were busy

First of all, my husband and I LOVE a great sports bar and tavern. It has to have great TVs, great pub food and great local beers. When we travel (and we travel a lot), we go for the sports bars over fine dining. Last night , in Morgantown, WV, we found Mountain Mama's. Thanks to the evening clerk at Euro Suites, we walked into MM and sat at the bar. It was crowded (always a good sign), people were laughing, and in a college town (WVU), college football was on all the TVs (too many TVs to count). We sat at the bar next to a very quiet gentleman. Turns out he was the owner observing the comings and goings of staff and customers alike. He recommended the wings and REAL chicken tenders with amazing homemade sauces. Honestly the food is really good I had the moth mama burger it was great and spinach artichoke dip also pretty good. The server I mainly had though need better skills. A different dark haired server was nice enough to take our orders probably because she seen us looking around we got drinks fast but our original server never came back to get our order. People that came in after us got waited on and left before us by said server. She looked nice as she talked to other tables that had more men at them but never even came back to ask if our food was okay till we where basically almost done then walked past our table multiple times without acknowledging us.
