Mt. Pleasant Library

We’ve been coming to the children’s section of this library for years and attended many preschool story times and events. Miss Melanie and Miss Rebecca still work here and continue to be wonderful… kind, patient, and truly caring toward children. Unfortunately, many of the newer staff members have made our recent experiences disappointing. Today, my 4-year-old was in tears after completing a scavenger hunt because he was excited to receive a panda sticker and was deliberately given a different one instead. The explanation was that stickers are chosen “at random.” A similar situation happened to my older son not long ago. very nice library with plenty of work/reading space. Clean and modern... BUT.....What in the world happened to QUIET???? I have never been to a library that was so disruptive with the incessant talking.... And talking loudly! No attempt whatsoever to whisper or be respectful for those therr trying to read or work. The worst part was it was employees.... Three of them gathered behind the desk as if they were at a Christmas party.... DON'T GO TO THIS LIBRARY IF YOU NEED QUIET SPACE!!!

By far the worst library experience I’ve had. We were excited to see the millions of dollars upgrade and left disappointed. This is the loudest library I have ever been in. Between staff being loud and kids yelling I only lasted 10 min in here trying to study. There are only 5 tables in the main area for studying all of which have hard plastic uncomfortable chairs. This place needs more study space with adequate seating and a volume check. Overall will not be returning.

First time there since redo. Stopped off to get some work done so I didn't have to venture out on the roads between appointments in MtP. I wish the carols were more isolated but probably for safety, better to be out in the open. It was a bit loud, not a tomb as I remember libraries being. That can be good or bad - depends on what you are looking for.
