Munches And Manervas Soul Food Cafe

I went last night right before they closed I was the last order they took customer service was great I wanted catfish they didn’t have but they had another fish I decided to try she brought it out to my car because I was the last customer she took. I took my bites in the car. I was pretty surprised the fish was crispy and good. The greens were good. They have flavor macaroni and cheese was OK out of a lot of places I’ve ate in Houston for soul food. I’m very picky. This was pretty good. I’ll be back.

Wife and I were on the north side of town and was looking for a black owned restaurant to check out. We found this place and decided to check it out. Wife got the fish with collard greens and Mac and cheese. Wife loved it and she particularly commented on the crispy outside of the fish. I had the wings. They were a little small, but very tasty !!! All of the food is cook to order, so it's hot and fresh. Just like I like it! Definitely on the list to visit again!!!

Waited about 10 minutes to order. Waited another 45 minutes to get the food. Pork chops were thick but dry. Flavor was ok. One of the orders was wrong. Gravy tasted like it was out of a package. The cornbread was dry. They ran of fried pickles and mushrooms.

Amazing wings extremely fresh and well prepared with care. Also ordered the Collard Greens, they were seasoned and tender. Can’t wait to bring my family back and try other options.

The only reason I gave 4 stars on service is because it was my first time there and I only went for peach cobbler. I waited for 20 minutes, before I was asked what did I order, mind you the lady behind me got a whole meal before I got my cobbler. BUT, the lady gave me 3 wings for my wait. Which is coo, because now I will be back for those good wings!! The cobbler was to sweet for me, but still good(its all good).
