Munchie's BBQ & Soul food

What a gem this place is! I traveled from Boston to Savannah for a day visit and was searching for authentic Southern food. Someone recommended this spot, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. I arrived a little late — they had just closed for the day. I met a staff member outside (I believe his name was Kerrim). I explained that I had walked an hour just to try their food. He kindly said they were closed, but then came back a few seconds later to ask what I wanted because he could make me a plate. I was so happy! Then the owner, Mrs. Willie, personally brought me a plate full of delicious bites. Everything was tasty and juicy. The collard greens, mac and cheese, and turkey were absolutely delicious. Southern hospitality at its best. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you T

I'm from Ohio and was looking for a good Rib joint and found this place, the food is slamm'n, the people are awesome, the portions are enormous, get there early cause the food is so good they ran out of ribs, but I got the Oxtail on red rice, my wife got chicken with Mac & cheese, I don't need to look any further i found my spot. Don't sleep on this place. Thanks for the kindness and making us feel at home 🙏🏾❤️

Monday, January 19, 2026 this is what we got: oxtail bones, rice, macaroni and please, and flavorless collard greens. I called, asked to speak to the manager, and when he got to the phone I asked for his name. He refused and just let me know he was the manager. This made me understand the poor attitude of the staff. The manager didn't offer any customer service, so I guess it is not required of the staff either. I let him know I was calling about my experience with the food and I preferred to address it with the establishment instead of on social media or here in the reviews. This is when he let me know his name is Willie and that "it's been a rough day" and that clearly reflected in the two $30 plates that we could not eat. Great service, very nice staff. I got a half slab of ribs and they were pretty dry. They had flavor but pretty much zero tenderness. The portion size was huge! I’ll be back but I hope the ribs are better

We went straight to Munchies from the airport, after escaping the frozen North. We were soon rewarded with excellent food and friendly service. The ribs were mighty good, slathered with their sauce that was vinegary and mustardy. The potato salad was, very possibly, the best I have ever tasted(let alone eaten ).
