Muumoo Foods, I Wanted to Root for My People, but It Missed the Mark Muumoo Foods has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to like it right away: clean, bright, pleasantly fragrant, and staffed by genuinely polite and professional people. It’s a grocery‑store‑meets‑restaurant concept tucked deep into a residential area, and unless you live nearby, getting here is inconvenient. It’s far from public transportation, and the small selection of Polish groceries isn’t enough to justify a special trip. As a Polish person, I want to root for my people. I want places like this to shine. That’s why I came specifically for the zapiekanka, hoping for something that captured the spirit of home. Instead, the wait was extremely long, and the Zapiekanka Diablo, described as a bold mix of mushrooms

Absolutely LOVED Muu Moo in Ridgewood! 😍 The Zapiekanka Village was soooooo goooddddd, unreal — crispy, comforting, and packed with flavor. The staff was so warm and welcoming, it honestly felt like a hug from the inside on a cold day 😄. They gave spot-on recommendations that made ordering easy. The place was super clean, cozy, and inviting. And the food… AMAAAAAZING 🤤. Can’t wait to come back for more. Highly recommend!

I ordered a Christmas Eve catering from them and I was truly shocked in the best possible way. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted like it was homemade. All the food was perfectly seasoned and there was no need to add even a pinch of salt. The only thing I regret is not ordering larger portions because everything was truly worth it. The order was accurate and complete, we received exactly what we were supposed to receive. On top of that, there was a lovely holiday card included, which was a very nice touch. Next year I would definitely order again because the quality of what was served to us was truly top level.

I ordered Christmas Eve catering from here. Pick up was chaotic and unorganized, as if it were the first time they were doing this. My 6-year-old daughter was left without a meal on Christmas Eve because instead of the cheese pierogi we ordered for her, they gave us meat. Disgraceful! The food was nothing to write home about. Salatka jarzynowa was almost frozen and tasteless. Pierogi were average, with no typical accompaniments like onions. Barszcz lacked any flavor and needed a lot of seasoning. Overall- a disappointment.

I came here with my wife a few days ago. I got the tavern sandwich, which was very good: it was freshly made and generously packed with meat and cheese. The pickles are also a very nice touch. My wife got the zapiekanka, which was also fresh, flavorful, and filled with several ingredients. The owner (I believe he's the owner) is super nice and friendly, he chatted with us for several minutes. The only small minus is that there's no public restroom - the owner explained to us that he wanted to get one set up but a DOB issue came up. Nevertheless, I will definitely be returning here to try other items on the menu.
