This place was excellent! What a gem right in downtown Utica... The place is very unassuming, and is very well kept, clean and comfortable. I'm not one that goes often to what I would call a "fancy" restaurant, but motus was very approachable, with wonderful food. The food was absolutely incredible, from the amuse bouche all the way through our entrees, it was all served hot, obviously cooked to order, and each plate just as delicious as the next. I had the mushroom polenta to start with, the motus burger and the sweet corn grits. Just amazing... The service was also just as good. Nikki, our server, was just the right amount of attentive, and was knowledgeable about the food. For a smaller place, one would expect that they need to turn over tables quickly, but not here. This was one of the best meals my husband and I have had! We chose the prix fix menu and enjoyed everything we ate. Our server was wonderful and attentive. They also gave us complimentary champagne because we were celebrating. The atmosphere was very relaxed and made it so you could enjoy a fancy meal to celebrate a special occasion but also not stuffy so you could just swing by for a weeknight meal as well. I would absolutely come back again.

Wonderful atmosphere. The food was delicious. Our server Isabella was fantastic. We tried the prix fixe option ($75pp) which included 3 courses, and 2-3 extra little compliments of the chef. Their menu rotates often with the seasons, so you’ll have new things to try if you come back often. Can’t recommend it enough!

I have been coming here for years. If you are looking for the best place to eat in the Utica area this is it. Event? Date night? Meeting friends from out of town? It’s Motus hands down. Unique seasonal menu that always pleases. Service is second to none. One time we went and our food took a little longer to come out, the bartender comped us our drinks. We didn’t even say anything about the wait time. She just knew that it was taking too long. Amazing! I would always recommend to reserve a table to ensure you get the best service. I find it easy to reserve unless it is right before an event at the Stanley then it might be a little busy.
