This was my second trip. This time, the reception wasn't as friendly and inviting. When I placed my order, I realized that the lady on the big picture was the one taking my order. I thought that the owner would be nicer and more welcoming than she was. Perhaps she was beyond tired and should have ended her shift early. It almost felt like she had lost her passion for her business. When I realized who was taking my order, I got excited and said, "Hey! That's her!" My enthusiasm dissipated because it felt like she didn't care that I was thankful to see the owner in person. There was no complimentary drink today. We ordered one catfish with etouffe and one plate with catfish. The yams were good and so were the greens. Great cook. Next time, if the owner is there, I hope she'll be happier. I'd
Fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, GOOD! My first time here and I tried the oxtail. It did not disappoint at all. The person in front of me in line ordered two plates. And the two people after me ordered the same as well. I had the Mac and cheese and potato salad as my sides and it went great with my meal. I will definitely be back for more.
I've only been here once so I can only go off that experience. The staff is very friendly and energetic. They make sure your order is correct before you leave. Different daily specials are available. I had the French toast and chicken and the chicken was seasoned perfectly the French roast was good also just too much vanilla extract to my liking.
For as large as the catfish filet was, it was tender and not gamey tasting. The fish was very fresh and the batter was light and properly seasoned. The cabbage had plenty of bacon, and the red beans were cooked down. The crawfish in the etoufeé were a little overdone. I will be back. The etoufeé gravy was a real roux based one.
Yummy 😋 but moderately priced 🤑! While definitely delicious this is not big mama’s soul food! Pros: Fast and friendly service! Cons: etouffee was watery. Pros: Fish cooked fresh each order.
