Great food and service, it’s authentic mala Xiang guo that’s not overly salty or anything. Also, great portion! I literally have been craving this place for so long and I’m happy to come back over and over again! Definitely recommend! I got their spicy shrimp pot w fatty beef added.
A no frills joint and bare bones interior, but the kitchen rocks! So who cares. Had the special sauerkraut soup and it lived up to the hype. The stock was excellent, the heat just when chewing n the sprinkled dry pepper bits, the sole fish portion generous and the taste like nothing I had tasted here or overseas. The cucumber side dish was enough for three people, and I suggested they offer a half portion for solo diners but that fell on deaf ears. They have a formula and are sticking with it. Not fond of plastic utensils, and the fact that they do not serve warm Chinese tea is a puzzle. Not a place to linger after the meal is over, but every bite and slurp totally worth it. I had lunch around 2:00 p.m. and the place was empty. Which is never a good sign, but this time not at all.
We came to Nai Brother Sauerkraut Fish Times Square location and were really impressed with the value. We ordered the sliced fish spicy pot and the sliced fish with green pepper soup. It was only $30 ($15 for each dish) and enough to serve four people. Both were flavorful, generous with fish, and came loaded with veggies and toppings. The broth had that perfect sour-spicy kick, and it felt like such a good deal compared to other spots in the area. I'm not sure if it is because this location opened recently but we got complimentary matcha crepe cake as dessert which was also delicious!
Delicious and affordable. We tried the sauerkraut fish, hot & sour fish, and a spicy beef dry pot. All of which were delicious, and great value. The staff was very chill and the venue was well lit and chill as well. I came back a week later to try the kim chi fish, just as delicious as the first two. Highly recommended!
So delicious! Great price for a sit down restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. We got the signature sauerkraut dish, bok choy, rice, and a Thai ice tea. This was perfect for two hungry people on a cold day. Would definitely come again.
