Nakama Sushi

We had such a wonderful experience at Nakama Sushi in San Francisco! The food was fresh and delicious, and the wooden, calm vibe made it even better. But the highlight of our evening was our waiter, who introduced himself as “Uncle Ben.” He was warm, funny, and made us feel completely at home. His energy added so much joy to the night—truly unforgettable service. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing Sushi some of the best I’ve had. The services was very attentive I would recommend making a reservation we made a reservation at 5 right at opening and they got very busy very quickly with reservations. I would be recommend checking them out.

New Year dinner before the festivities and my first time here—so glad we chose this spot. We sat at the bar and had a great time interacting with the chefs, and I’ll definitely do the same every time I come back. The sushi was outstanding—flavorful and beautifully prepared. We had sashimi that was incredibly fresh and mouthwateringly good. The rolls were fantastic, and the sake was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Customer service was stellar from start to finish. This gem is one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the city. They also have another location in Oakland under a different name, which I can’t wait to check out. I’ll absolutely be coming back every opportunity I get.

My husband and I came here Christmas Eve, 2025. The place was packed and the employees were working so hard - the chefs were just cranking out amazing dishes and the staff was nonstop moving. We sat at the sushi bar so we could watch the masters at work. The roasted rice green tea Genmaicha was delicious, as was everything we ate, and everything was so fresh. We ordered buttery walu and hamachi sushi, shared a generous seaweed salad, loved the miso soup and the baby Bella mushrooms, then on to the vegetarian gyoza that had such a good flavor. We also shared spicy Dynamite and Volcano rolls, the latter having the added texture of roe.
