Nancy Jo's Homemade Bakery of Oak Island

LOVE this place. They have a wonderful selection of fudges, pies, cakes and now spices to choose from. Their lasagna and chicken pot pies are absolutely amazing as well as their chicken and pasta salads. Not to mention how sweet they are!!! I go at least once a week now.

Stopped in and purchased the carrot cake slice, toffee and lemon bar. The carrot cake was ok at best. Publix carrot cake is much better. As for the toffee and lemon bar both went in the trash terrible. This was my first and last visit there

Very small and homey feeling bakery. Multiple delicious items to choose from. I tried 3 of the cakes (strawberry, 12 layer chocolate, and pig pickin cake). All of them were very delicious. The 12 layer was especially good since it had the consistency and taste of a fudgy brownie YUM! The strawberry cake was also packed full of flavor and super moist. As someone who loves to cook and bake, I can tell they put a lot of effort and love into their products.

The Swiss chocolate cake slice we shared was large enough for two. And it was so light and airy. The whipped frosting was not overly sweet and balanced the chocolate flavor well. Highly recommend this!!!

Friendly people and great cake! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop for a slice of cake! I would highly recommend the Swiss chocolate. It's a favorite of my family.
