Nassau County Public Library Fernandina Beach Branch

On my stop at the Library on 4th Street (Fernandina Beach, FL) on Jan'26, staff nicely assisted me in printing my docs (0.15/page [bring coins], no wasted cover page). Note: up[ricey]s[ervice] charges $5 for printed shipping label).

Wonderful library with a huge selection. The passport service is also very convenient, especially with them taking pictures on site.

I submitted my passport application here with my money order with expedited shipping that I paid for and my passport picture as well as my birth certificate! An a separate application fee to the library. I waited 3 weeks just to find out that all of my paperwork and money had been lost. Nobody contacted me to inform me of the situation, I had to call them. I spoke with Anne (the supervisor at fernandina library) she was speaking to me like this was my fault or as if I’d done something wrong. She told me that she “absolutely could not refund me”. I would just have to pay for everything again and resubmit my application… every time I’d ask a question she didn’t know the answer. I went to the library in Fernandina Beach to get a passport yesterday (2/26/2025). The two women on staff that were at the desk were most unfriendly. I would not say that they were unprofessional, just icy and blunt. Definitely not a favorable experience; I have not ever had anyone behave that way there before. I am hoping it was a "one-off" or maybe just a bad day for them. Looking forward to a better experience next time.

The librarians are knowledgeable and always helpful. I'm a published author and I will definitely donate a copy of my book of poetry. I wonder if I could even schedule a book signing here before Christmas. I also do freelance writing. I'm just now coming off a long sabbatical, so I take advantage of computer access. Their lab is never crowded. Their facility is clean and quiet and a great environment to focus while I bid on ghost writing contracts via Upwork. Compared to Duval and St. Johns County libraries, Nassau County's library in downtown Fernandina Beach is tops for sure. Nerding is cool these days...
