Visited on Valentine's Day and had their special Prix Fixe menu. Everything was exceptional. I had the best whole fish (snapper) I've ever had anywhere. The cocktails and service were also perfect. Can't wait to go back and try their full menu some time. This is a wonderful addition to Durham's dining scene in every way.

Durham’s food scene just got a serious upgrade with the opening of Nerra! This place is an absolute gem. The menu is full of seasonal seafood dishes that are packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. I tried the creamy Cajun seafood pasta, and it was out of this world. The whole red snapper was perfectly cooked and just melted in my mouth. Every bite made me excited for the next! The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish. It’s clear they truly care about their guests and take pride in what they do. Wow. Just wow. My parents were in town for the weekend, so we decided to check out this brand new spot, and I'm so glad we did. It was absolutely spectacular! We started with the tuna crudo and the curry mussels, and both were phenomenal! The sauce on the crudo and the curry broth for the mussel were both out of this world delicious! When we ran out of mussels and bread we were all taking turns drinking the broth out of empty mussel shells - it was that good! For entrees, we had two specials, the Cajun seafood pasta and the roasted whole red snapper. Both were excellent. The snapper was so moist and the sauce was great - reminded me of linguine with clams. And my dad loved his pasta. Saw this spot on the TikTok and decided to make a reservation. It was a 10/10 and will surely be coming back. The decor was honestly one of the best I have seen in a Durham eatery in a while. The vibe was chill and the food was DELICIOUS. Our waiter , Nigel, gave us some great recommendations and was very knowledgable about the menu and sauce combinations. Checked on us often and was truly a pleasure. The highlight of the night was to have the owner/ head chef come out and check on us. I loved this place and I will surely be back. Our dinner at Nerra was delicious and we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. I ordered the grilled salmon with citrus butter and it was amazing. The side Caesar salad was great as well. My husband loved his Tuscany chicken special. We were pleasantly surprised that they treat you to a free dessert on Friday nights! I highly recommended coming to Nerra for your next meal!
