New Golden Abacus

It had been a while since I have been here. The experiences were always great. A little hidden gem off of route 1 in Norwood. Restaurant was clean, the locals at the bar were friendly. Ping, the owner was behind the bar. It is family run. She was personable and nice to talk to. I ordered some of my Chinese food staples to check them out. Started with the Hot and Sour Soup. It was old school with a nice flavor and a little kick. The Beef Teriyaki was tender, flavorful and finished off with a delicious glaze. The Wings were nice and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the outside. They were well marinated throughout. A tad salty, but overall solid. Staff and service was great but the food was disappointing. The Mongolian beef didn't taste fresh and had a coating on it that made it mushy. Our first time having crispy pad thai and won't ever order that again. The rice was the smallest portion of rice we've ever had at any Asian restaurant with way too big chunks of pork. Everything else was ok. The bathroom had no hot water! Washing my hands in cold water was a struggle being as it was a little chilly in the restaurant itself and 37 out.

The food was good, but the woman possibly the owner, was very unprofessional. She spoke to customers in a rude manner and even called out a customer after they used the bathroom, accusing them of peeing on the floor. On top of that, she openly asked for a tip, which felt inappropriate.

Best Chinese food restaurant in the area. We travel from Millis to get the food. Always fresh and hot. Family run. Good people nice family.

I never had a bad meal here ever they are top notch food.
