I was placed into adv. math and programming courses, which is ridiculous given that the comp sci grad cert program was advertised for career changes. I was overwhelmed out of the gate, which should not have been the case. One prof didn't even lecture! He just told us to read the textbook. In my opinion that's unacceptable. Additionally, my advisor was completely unavailable, AND is the one who set me up with inappropriate courses in the first place. I truly regret my time at NJIT and their program and/or advertising needs to be revisited.
It was nice! Very popular and extremely busy campus. The school has great curriculums. PARKING IS A DIFFERENT SUBJECT! Parking is scarce even with a parking pass. It's because you have the live-in and the outsiders parking in the parking lots. I know the dorms have separate parking spots but I guess if they don't feel like walking they will drive a block just to park in the lots.
Was here this morning for Salesforce training and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Andrew McDermott is the truth! He guided me through what he believes my strengths are and showed me excellent networking opportunities. NJIT allowed us to use their spaces for this trailblazer meetup and for this I'm grateful. This is a hidden gem in Newark NJ.
I would give it a 0 star. This school has highly impersonal, indifferent environment: this is a weed-out school. Natural interest in learning is not encouraged here, everything is about how to fail you. No-one cares about students. No-one helps. Professors don't care. Tutoring sucks too. This school's goal is to be making students into soulless corporate-machines. I have studied in other universities and got degrees in other places. I have never seen such unhelpful, arrogant, power-seeking, miserable, terrible professors. Enrolling to this school was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. The campus is really bad too.
Great campus! Beautiful. Also, visit the makerspace and schedule a tour!
