Interesting sushi buffet. Very crowded, be prepared to wait to be seated. Once seated, if you select the buffet option, you then order from a list of offerings, standard sushi/sashimi fare. Trick is to account for the time between orders and keeping track of what you ordered so that you don't order too much, since they do charge a ka carte prices for items left over to discourage food waste. You have a 2 hrs time limit, but that's plenty of time. If you bring your appetite, you're in for a treat. If you didn't, then order from the menu. I'm an eater, so I highly recommend it.
Service: very attentive and friendly host. They were on top of it, taking away empty dishes, checking in if we needed anything, etc. Parking: there’s metered parking Ambiance: looks a little old, but everything was very clean. Food: super worth the value, so if you’re looking for good bang for your buck, I would recommend this place. I saw a previous review where the girl said the food wasn’t fresh but for us, the sashimi (salmon, roe, mackerel, yellowtail) were allll super fresh. We were actually surprised by how good it was for all you can eat! There’s also a good amount of rolls and hot appetizer items. A lot of it is probably stuff you can get at the grocery store but for all you can eat, I’m not complaining! The steak appetizer was also juicy and tender. Lastly, a lot of places typ
I saw many people on social media recommending Nijiya Buffet in Medford. The name sounds Japanese, so I thought it was an authentic Japanese place. But when I walked in, I realized it’s actually run by Chinese owners (nothing against that!). The vibe, as you can see in photos 2–4, feels just like one of those low-cost family chain restaurants back in Asia. The food was… quite something (photos 6–9). The pork cutlet and takoyaki tasted obviously pre-made, the miso soup had that instant-powder flavor, and the yaki udon was bland with water pooling at the bottom. The sushi didn’t taste fresh at all, and the ice cream was the exact same flavor as the cheapest bulk one from Costco. From the very first bite, I could really feel how much effort the restaurant put into “cost control.” The service
I liked the options of AYCE. The service was pretty fast rather not so friendly. Quality of items are okay but not perfect. The deep fried items served for me were extremely hot, seemed like they’d been taken out of oil 1 seconds ago. I burned my mouth which was inconvenient. I will probably go back for their AYCE.
Had a great time here today. I ate so much and everything was yummy! Quick service and fair price for the portions. Very good rice to meat ratio.
