My husband and I stopped by Nikki Teriyaki for the first time after spending hours walking around Pike Market place. We were staying at the hotel next door and looking for something quick and close. Asian cuisine sounded good, and this spot seemed convenient. It was around 7 PM when we arrived, and the place wasn’t busy at all. The restaurant has clearly weathered some years. Nothing fancy, but relatively clean. The woman at the counter greeted us after helping another customer. Her demeanor was dry and expressionless, not exactly a warm welcome, but we greeted her with a smile anyway. We ordered chicken teriyaki with rice and gyoza and just chicken teriyaki with white rice but no gyoza. The food was ready in under 10 minutes, and we took it back to our hotel to eat. The portion sizes were
Nikko is one of my go-to lunch spots. Their teriyaki chicken is the best in the valley. The portions are generous, and the sauce has a unique spice in it that I love, not your ordinary bottle variety sauce. Service is fast and always friendly. In my most recent visit I strayed from the usual to sample their yakisoba noodles. Again, large portions for an exceptional value. It was fresh and hot. I ate it all, but I probably won't order it again, as I found the sauce too sweet. Next time back to the chicken. Also, the gyoza are worth the splurge!
Sadly I ordered a chicken stir fry and got lots of cabbage. A tiny bit of chicken. The egg rolls were delicious. I paid way too much for cabbage and rice.
We check in at Hampton Inn. We're very happy about 5 restaurants from different cuisine that was walking distance. First time to eat here despite some reviews with 1 star. We decided to try. We like it. Specifically, the salad that comes with it. It's ok. Good customer service, she was very helpful. I know the ambiance was a bit sad, but it tastes good.
Busy place during lunch. But they crank out orders very quickly, usually well within minutes. The dining room is cramped. Most of the time you need to excuse yourself to squeeze by other guests. Tables and chairs are old with cracked and peeling covers. Not particularly clean; not neat for sure. Service attitude is not terrible, but not great either. Spicy chicken is one of the favorites on the menu. Portion size is pretty generous. I will never order the veggie fried rice ever again. It’s pretty much all rice with a sparse of frozen peas and carrots. Very disappointed.
