Nik's Steak & Seafood

Like others have mentioned, this is pretty much a hole in the wall, no frills established. I was craving regular / decent fried shrimp and hush puppies for lunch and didn’t want to pay $20/$30 for a plate. So found this place on Google. Decent enough quality, especially for the price. Called order in and it was ready when I got there. Satisfied my craving and I’ll probably be back. Prices are still consistent with the prices quoted years ago which I can genuinely appreciate. Con: didn’t care for the smell of the place. But not sure if that was due to a patron or just generally how the dining area smells.

Very very bland. I had a cup of gumbo and while the chicken had good flavor the rest was subpar for gumbo. Then I had the popcorn shrimp and it was bland, there was no seasoning in the batter at all. The starter sauce tasted like mayonnaise with some pickles in it. The boudin balls were rubbery, the fillings was okay at best.

Nice small restaurant located in retail strip. Easy to miss when driving by. Great food with low prices. Friendly service and clean environment. The sweet potato fries are addicting and the catfish comes out hot and fresh everytime. This my 4th time here. The service and food has been great during each previous visit.
