“Wow—what a find! This was my first time trying Haitian food, and honestly? I’m hooked. From the second I walked in, the vibe felt just… right—like stepping into someone’s home. The rice and beans? Out of this world—fluffy, smoky, perfectly spiced, like someone’s grandma made them with love. And the meat? So tender, so juicy, basically melted in my mouth—super soft, full of flavor. Unreal. The chef’s got serious talent—he nailed every bite. But the owner? That guy’s the real MVP. He remembered my name, asked if I wanted extra plantain—like he knew I’d love it—then grinned when I said yes. It felt personal, not just polite. Hey truckers—if you’re rolling down Edgewood Ave, tired of greasy drive-thru slop and gas-station sandwiches, pull in here. This is the kind of real, homemade food that

Extraordinary! This is the best restaurant experience I've had in Jacksonville. We happened upon this diamond in the rough after a YMCA game on this side of town. To greet us was the dad and he went through the menu and knew every flavor every ingredient and every seasoning. Extremely friendly and really set the tone for the evening. It's a small place and we ate at the bar because they they recently purchased the property and are doing all of remodeling by hand. These are hard-working people and among the friendliest that I've ever met. This is the type of restaurant that can become a fixture in this city. The food was freshly cooked to order and there was flavor bursting off of every plate. Everyone had a huge smile on their face and we had conversations that we won't soon forget amongst

It had been so long since I’d enjoyed home-style Haitian food, and this restaurant brought all those flavors rushing back. Every dish was perfectly seasoned with rich, authentic taste that truly feels homemade. The owner is incredibly welcoming and takes the time to make sure each meal is just right. We ordered the fried chicken which was nice and crispy with cornmeal on the side. We also got the goat with rice—both were absolutely delicious. Even my American husband loved it and especially recommends the cornmeal as a side for a more immersive introduction to Haitian cuisine. Atmosphere is a 4/5 because they are renovating a few spots inside, but we would rate 4.8/5 easily due to food taste exceeding expectations and the service was lovely.

Soo tasty!! First time there for take out; approximately 15-20 minute wait for made to order fresh food. The food is very good and has good piman ! We asked for spicy meat but wasn’t expecting this much flavor. I’m Haitian and my husband is American but we both enjoyed the spice. If you aren’t a big fan of spice get the mild lol. We ordered the griot(fried pork) complete with rice and beans & kabrit (goat) complete with white rice. Great portions and you know the rice is good if you can eat it without sauce! This picture is after we have eaten some of it lol

It can be challenging finding authentic Haitian cuisine and we’re happy we found this hidden gem. The food was delicious and the portions were perfect. You can tell that the owner really values providing an amazing experience for his customers. We will be back
