We did the coursed menu which for the price, was a decent amount of food. But despite being advertised as the best way to fully experience their food and Korean-American fusion, most dishes were just an American dish with an “Asian” ingredient, that sometimes worked, and other times felt like it was just thrown in arbitrarily without any regard for how it would blend with the other flavors. The marinated cucumbers were good, they’re exactly what you’d expect. The Caesar was okay. Just okay. And I feel like unless you’re a random diner with a billion menu items and plan on just serving your Caesar as a pile of chopped romaine and bottled dressing, you can not have an “okay” Caesar on your menu. I recently visited the Brooklyn location of this restaurant and was a bit surprised by how quiet it was. The place was nearly empty, maybe one or two tables occupied, despite the fact that their Manhattan location is usually booked out well in advance. This location had plenty of reservation availability, which made getting a table easy. The restaurant sits in a more industrial part of Brooklyn. There isn’t much happening in the immediate area, and the streets nearby are a bit rough around the edges. That said, once you step inside, the atmosphere is completely different. The interior was extremely clean, music was playing, and the service was attentive and friendly. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. I Did the tasting menu at Nowon Bushwick and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious the salad was great, the cucumber kimchi was surprisingly amazing, and the burger? Perfect. Easily the highlight of the meal. The tasting menu is worth it, but next time I’m going straight for the legendary burger. It’s on another level.

Overall visit here went well. It was on my list for a minute and finally planned Saturday brunch. Easy breezy and no need for resys. Here were the CONS: -Those wooden benches and chairs. Ouch! The cushions were too small and flat and did nothing. -Entrees WITH NO SIDES! Restaurants really need to stop doing this. It’s not cool… Food didn’t come out all together. Our burger was the last thing that came out and it took a minute. Have the wait staff explain that. PROS: That $21 burger (with NO SIDE) was worth the hype! That whipped ricotta toast 10/10 Cocktail was a banger Service was amazing! Wait staff was friendly and full of smiles. They have a coat check! The place was a vibe, from the music videos projected on the wall to the music playlist! Happy I went. May return for the Legendary

Such a fun dining experience! We came on a Sunday night, so it was pretty quiet. Burger was amazing, one of the best burgers we ever had. The chopped cheese rice cakes were delicious and fun. The cucumber kimchi was the perfect refreshing bite and the general lee chicken was tasty. Since the chicken was dark meat, it was a little heavier than expected. Great time and we look forward to returning.
