NYU Lutheran Coffee Shop

Came here after leaving the hospital, hungry and pregnant, only to be told they’re cash only. I go out of my way to use their ATM and pay extra fees just to get cash, then I’m told the grill is closed for catering. That information should have been shared before making customers take out cash. Completely inconsiderate and a waste of time and money. I will not be spending my money here ever they are rude the lady walked away while I’m talking!

I was here two days in a row in December 2025 while my mom was a patient in the hospital. Had never been there before. The tuna sandwich on rye toast with lettuce and tomato was excellent and well-priced. Service is quick. My only complaint is that I got the same iced coffee drink both days (large hazelnut iced coffee. The first day I was charged $7, the next day I was charged only $4.50!

Nice coffee shop diner. Was hungry for cheeseburger and sweet potatoes fries. It was good. They make good panini too. Good service. My only complaint is the seating for single around the counter is not comfortable. Not enough leg space. I am a bit large and tall so my legs need room.

I come here ever so often when visiting a patient. I must say that the food here is really good and reasonable in price. Waitstaff is friendly and service is quick. The only issue is that it is cash only.

Went back in 2018. MUCH Improved from 1989-90. They used to have a limited menu, and Rude, "other-abled" Employees. They have also enlarged it.
