Customer Reviews
I cannot express my gratitude enough for all the help an employee - Ross - gave me in procuring a beach wheelchair for my 91 year old mother this past weekend for a beach wedding we attended at the Breakers in Ft. Walton Beach. I called several places and they only had motorized wheelchairs at outrageous rental prices for the 40 feet up and back in the sand that we needed. Someone suggested the beach safety people as an alternative and Ross came through. I know the wedding was outside the normal hours of operation but he is a man with a heart of gold. He understood the situation we were in and was there with the wheelchair at the end of the wooden walkway at the appointed time and there to pick it up when the ceremony was over. And he was so super nice and pleasant. Thanks for making our d
The Okaloosa County Beach Safety Headquarter truly, truly cares about the people. They are dedicated and work tirelessly to ensure safety! I worked with an employee, Ross, who helped me get my grandfather a beach wheelchair for my wedding and he was incredibly kind and clearly concerned foremost for my grandfather's comfort and safety. I deeply appreciate their services and their effort to get my grandfather that wheelchair at all costs!
They weave in and out of people sitting at the beach all day, very frequently at a high rate of speed instead of driving behind everyone where the beach is clear. I watched one on a four wheeler almost run over a small toddler due to this. They’re constantly harassing people and make the beach experience very unpleasant. I’ve called headquarters and instead of hearing this complaint (and many others) he instantly became furious and went into a rant about how their people are perfect. It’s clearly about compliance and strict rules with them rather than safety.
I called and reported a man and young boy this evening in trouble and these guys were amazing at getting 2 miles down the beach to our area to help these folks out. I just happen to hear the man’s screams from my balcony as bystanders jumped to action. So glad these folks were helped and get to go home safe tonight. Amazing work by all involved. Thank you for keeping okaloosa island safe.
I totally get that they are doing their job, BUT the gal life guard needs to be aware of her surroundings when going up and down the beach with the ATV. She is yelling at people who are in the water during double red flags BUT almost hitting kids that are playing in the sand obeying the rules. I personally witnessed her twice just in the area I am in. She needs to do better!
