Old House Restaurant

This little quaint restaurant in CT was delicious. We walked in they took our order and we were eating soon after. Amazing food!!! Homemade tortillas, the slaw with pupusas were delicious! Will go again when we re in the area!

I took a walk from the Hilton in Stamford and stumbled upon a gem! The beef empanadas were some of the best I’ve ever tasted with a perfect salsa accompaniment. I had the marinated pork and skirt steak combo. The pork is marinated over 24 hours and is melt in your mouth delicious. The steak was very good as well. Rice and beans beautifully homemade. They make their own corn tortillas as well and they are addictive. Portions were large. I couldn’t finish all the food. Fun and clean atmosphere as well. I will be back.

BE ADVISED STAY AWAY NOT WORTH IT. This place used to be the spot to go to to get really good food at an awesome price and for a good amount. I'm not sure what happened if it changed owners, but I would advise not to go there. Ordered take out for a few coworkers and I to have lunch. Spent $88+ on a meal that was not even full. As pictured they now ration your food. I understand times are hard and prices are up, but no reason to charge more and give you less doesn't add up. Didn't realize until after I got back to work. I called them up right away and asked how in the world they could charge $3.99 for 4 pieces of fried plantains. The manager told me that is what his boss told him to put on the plate. This place is a literal joke and scam ordered 2 orders of seafood and they converted it into 1 tray called the people super rude not even trying to be a Karen but it’s ridiculous I payed 100+ they’re going to lie and say I payed for 1 personal tray and I literally have receipts I payed for 2 trays and on top of that having to pay 14 extra for each EACH!! Tray because it’s supposed to be family trays. should’ve taken the hint when people were saying that this place wasn’t worth it because nobody there is humble not the workers or even the owners everyone completely full of themselves Who wants to go to a place Where the waiters Are so entitled because they are the owners mistresses oh yeah yall really got the wrong one because I DO NOT PLAY ABOUT MY MONEY!!! Stopped in here for lunch. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Place is super clean and inviting. Food was amazing and fairly priced. I’ll be back again for sure.
