Oriental Taste

I had dinner here tonight and ordered a grilled fish. The server told us it would take about 30 minutes, and we said okay. After waiting for an entire hour, he came back and told us they couldn’t make it because it hadn’t even been started. He said his position was lower than the kitchen staff and that he couldn’t tell them what to cook. We asked to speak with the manager, but the manager also seemed completely indifferent. He said everything had to be queued and there was nothing they could do. When we asked for a solution, he said they could start making it now and we could keep waiting. When we pointed out that the server had told us 30 minutes, he said the server was wrong. They kept shifting the blame and showed absolutely no apology. I would give them a zero if there is an option. We went there last night. We asked how long the grilled fish would take before ordering and were told 30 minutes. After waiting over an hour, we were informed it hadn’t even been started. When we asked for a manager, no one came. The front desk said the server had “misspoken,” but there was no apology or accountability. We were told that if we still wanted the dish, we would have to start over and wait again. Delays happen, but honesty and basic customer respect should not. We chose to leave.

We arrived very close to closing. We had dry braised beef, rice noodles with beef, shrimp hargow, hot and sour soup and sesame balls. They accommodated gluten free and egg allergy (even remade a dish at no charge because I forgot to note egg allergy). Great service and really tasty food. We retuned after many years and it was as good as we remember.

Great place for lunch. Some American Asian food as well as some more traditional stuff.

The atmosphere: It's a relaxed dinning room that's a bit on the smaller side, maybe 10 tables total? Medium noise level. The sushi bar overlooks the dinning area so you can see sushi being made. Bathrooms are available downstairs. The dinning room showed slight signs of wear, there was a missing light fixture with wires hanging out, and the tables have clear marks of usage. The staff: We saw only one waitress on a weekend during lunch, she was quiet, pleasant, and very attentive to our needs. The food: Was simply amazing. So much flavor in every dish! You MUST try the soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), I think you get 6 dumplings and they are incredibly flavorful. The dishes were pretty big, definitely a hearty portion, you won't leave hungry.
