Orland Park Public Works Department

First of all, let me start by saying that after 33 years of living in Orland Park, this is our first experience dealing with the VOP Public Works department and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them! After months of sump pump issues that we were convinced were specific to our property, our plumber recommended we scope our drainage pipe to the main storm drain with a camera to determine if there was a blockage, which in fact there was. The main storm drain was full of huge tree roots from the adjacent property and backing up into our drain. At that point we were advised to contact our Village since they were responsible for the main storm drain. When I called the VOP PW, I was greeted by Michelle, whose voice was welcoming and calming to my inquiry. She assured me she would

Thank you so much to everyone in the public works department. I recently had an issue with my sewer main and a disreputable plumbing company came out and told me that there was a break in the main in the parkway and that it was my responsibility to fix it. I contacted the village and they came out immediately, looked at my service line with a camera and informed me that there was nothing wrong with our main. They were so kind, helpful and professional and saved me thousands of dollars for work that didn’t need to be done! Everything has been great since! I learned to always call the village FiRST if you ever have a sewage problem. Thank you guys!

Terrible experience with Orland Park public works department. Had issues getting my pavement repaired and contacted them several times to let them know my concrete needed repairing. Front desk woman is extremely condescending and rude. Had my pavement repaired leading up to my driveway and the job is not finished. The company hired to fix this has gone on vacation and must wait 2 weeks before the job can be completed. This is what our tax dollars are paying for. Completely unacceptable.

Being disabled I don't go out of my house all that much but Thursday 12/31/15 going out became a new adventure. Thanks to the plows of Orland Park ,I had snow piles 3ft. high across my driveway that had frozen hard that cause my vehicle to actually become stuck and damage my front bumper. I have call into the department in the past about the plowing situation around my house,but this tops all. Time to look for a house out of state

Spent the morning shoveling the driveway. Snow plow just came by and sent a “windroll” (as I was informed of the correct terminology by the person answering the phone) about 2feet wide and 2-1/2feet high up on the bottom of my driveway. Had to go out and try to clear it before it freezes or I’ll be stuck in the house until it warms up. I live on a culdesac and, as a result, we are last on the list for plowing. When snow fall is this significant I think possibly taking some of our tax payer money and hiring a contractor to plow these streets or assist with “windroll” clean up of taxpayer driveways would be a great idea. Can’t wait to get out of Orland Park. Leaving soon
