Oso Felipe

Oso Felipe is an unassuming looking building, but is so nice inside. We went on a chilly night and it was cozy and welcoming. We sat at the bar, had a drink and some delicious, fresh guacamole and perfectly salted chips. The bartenders were friendly, service was great and the menu was very appealing. We had salmon with mole and pork chops served with a pickled cherry sauce for dinner. All was fresh and delicious! We will definitely go back to try more of the menu.

Came here for brunch and really loved my margarita. The nachos were solid too. The pico is just amazing!! We got tacos, which are a bit pricey ($25 for three). My fiancé had the chicken tacos and liked them, but I had the mushroom tacos and wouldn’t recommend them, it had way too many mushrooms. I would still come back though to try the dinner menu and for the drinks.

Was very delighted to hear that the old Richie Ceciers building was now a new restaurant after 10 years of being empty. What a great experience we had for my partners birthday , being a new Mexican restaurant that Montclair lacks we were quite happy. From start to finish was a great experience. Cocktail's were delicious and the new twist on Mexican food was delightful. The only draw back was it was way to loud but all in all we will definitely be back to try other delights we saw on the menu!

Soft opening: Three floor Mexican restaurant serving food made with fresh ingredients. Grab a table by the kitchen and watch them be prepared. Nachos that resemble tacos layered with cheese, topped with lettuce and jalapeño. Side of guacamole needs to double in size. Chili cheeseburger with perfect char and best steak frites in the area. Flautas were crispy and filled with shredded chicken topped with cheese crumble. More of the seasoned chicken is needed. The signature cocktails are refreshing. My wife and I dined here a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic meal. I see some more recent reviews mentioning service failures. We didn’t experience that, and in fact thought our service was solid. My only comment would be that tortillas for the fajitas should be kept separately in a warmer instead of placed atop the steaming pile of meat/veg, where they very quickly become soggy. I’ll be returning next week with some out of town family and look forward to having a fully gluten free meal!
