P.A. Smith Hotel

We were planning an overnight trip to College Station to see the huge Christmas light display and I didn’t want to stay just anywhere, and no chain hotel if possible, so I searched for historical hotels and I found this one and what a beauty! Beautiful decor inside and out. Once inside, I couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the decor to share with friends and let others know about this sweet place off the beaten path so to speak. I had chosen a room on the third floor when making reservations, which is a nice touch that one can choose their theme room. Website pics were spot on, well maybe better in person, absolutely gorgeous from the drapery to the bedding, very spacious, very clean room. From the moment we booked our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner to the night of the dinner, all staff were very accommodating and made all our visions come to life. Truly a beautiful venue! The party continued in Hamer’s Speakeasy where the young ones made lasting memories together.

I visited and stayed overnight at this hotel on the 15th with a girlfriend to celebrate my Birthday! What a beautiful place. We actually walked in and we were the only guest staying that night. Everyone was so very warm and friendly. There was no detail left untouched. They allowed an early check in and we were escorted to our room. Again, I cannot say enough about this place Additionally, they brought us complimentary bottles of wine complete with ice and glasses. I definitely will visit again!

This Hotel is a rare Gem that had been left to ruin for decades and rescued by the Scheve’s who are visionaries. Their attention to detail in staying true to the hotels original architecture are a beautiful offering to today’s visitor. This is a quiet setting nested in Navasota’s historical downtown that has seen in its history some of Texas greatest history. The hotel was restored to include its own speak-easy that gives the visitor a walk down history lane with a vintage old west offering. |THIS is a slice of Texas that is must see and must experience!!

A historic hotel with modernized infrastructure. The location is unique since it sits along railroad tracks, which were part of a station. If you don’t mind occasional train traffic this is a beautiful hotel in a cool location. They don’t have a lot of in hotel dining, but there are several restaurants within just a few feet that are both really good..
