When we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was empty. Empty on a Saturday evening? Is that a red flag? As my family and I were deciding whether to stay or not, we were burned too many times from these types of scenarios and were reluctant to go through that again. Then a lady from the back greeted us. Awww, what the heck? We had a long day and were hungry. How bad can the food be? The Google reviews were mostly trolls reviewing with low ratings and answered with witty and sarcastic replies from the business. Sarcasm is my kind of language. I ordered the Pollo A La Brasa 1/2 chicken entree with a side of rice and beans and ordered an additional side of maduros. We also ordered the skirt steak and chicken salad. The food came. The chicken salad was loaded with onions.
So is my first and last time coming into this place since I want to get the lunch. I called the place to make a order which nobody answered… once I got to the place I got a soup with green spaghetti (lunch menu) I paid 17 and change. PORTION ARE TERRIBLE , they give you a scoop of pasta a big breast chicken to hide the minimum pasta they give and really small soup. I was surprised for the food portion. Pasta needed salt in other words it needed make it again and all I tasted was cheese , disgusting! Never again! So sad that the place inside is beautiful but food is not worth it!
Tried the anticuchos de corazón because the server recommended them and I’m so glad we did. Super tender and seasoned perfectly. Not chewy at all like I’ve had elsewhere. You can tell the kitchen really knows traditional Peruvian flavors.
Came in on a Friday night and the energy was great. Ordered the lomo saltado and it was cooked perfectly tender steak, flavorful sauce, and that smoky wok taste you just can’t fake. Paired it with a pisco sour and it was game over. So good.
The Jalea portion was huge and super crispy without feeling greasy. You can tell they know how to fry seafood the right way. We also tried the sangria and it was refreshing and not overly sweet. Perfect for sharing with friends.
