Palacio Maya Mexican Restaurant

Might be the best Mexican restaurant in Gladstone! The staff is so kind and welcoming. Our waiter addressed us as ladies and gentleman throughout the evening and it was so sweet and respectful. Chips and salsa went hard, which is typically a good indicator for a Mexican place. Great chicken fajitas. Easy 5 stars for the overall experience.

Went on a Sunday night around 6:45; the place was completely empty. Ordered enchiladas supremas and a frozen margarita. Food came out with the whole plate absolutely covered in lettuce and tomato; enchiladas underneath were small, under-sauced, not flavorful, and the tortillas had a very strange doughy texture. Server didn't ask what size for the margarita so he brought out a $13 medium in a large mug. Unfortunately it was very icy, poured over ice cubes in the bottom of the glass, and generally not a great margarita. Chips and salsa were the best thing there and they were nothing special. Was seated for around half an hour and nobody else ever never checked on me outside of ordering and serving my food. Will not be coming back.

Excellent! Very pleased with the meal today. I had the Steak Fajita Burrito with beans and rice. I also added a fried beef taco. The taco was excellent: light and crispy with a large portion of ground beef. Not that there was anything wrong with the burrito, it was very good, but next time I stop in I'll get the fried taco platter. Prices are fair based today's economy and the portions were substantial. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone considering Mexican for lunch or dinner.

So I have been eating here 1-4x weekly for a year and a half, and it used to be so good, but they appear to have new management, recipe changes, and only one person who used to work there still appears to...and it isn't good anymore. I've had to return dishes because it was literally half grease, and the picture I'm posting of their beef nachos was NOT one I returned, but what you see is how much grease is just sitting in the bottom after I specifically asked to make sure they drained it properly. I work next door and used to always recommend it, but not anymore.

Truly, everything tasted really good. I felt like the price of dips was a little expensive. I also didn't realize our dish would be covered in a lot of red sauce, I should have asked. But the flavor of everything was really good. I even liked the beef, I'm normally a cheese and veggie person at Mexican restaurants. But the beef was seasoned really well. I would come back and try something different. The service was exceptional. They kept our drinks full and were beyond friendly.
