Palio's Pizza Cafe, Forney

Tried the scorcher pizza and it was nice! Did not see any of the toppings on the thin crust so was a little confused if my order got swapped, but the taste was perfect. So no complaints.

The restaurant was pretty quiet for dine-in, but it looked like they had a steady flow of to-go orders. The girl who took my order was very friendly and helpful. The fountain drinks tasted a little off, like they might have been low on syrup. One thing that stood out was the staffing, it felt a little unusual. After the cashier left for the day(assuming bc she left in a car), we mostly just saw the team working on pizzas. There were two other employees around, but one was sitting at the bar with a laptop and the other at a table, only getting up when customers came in. It made things a little awkward when we needed to ask for to-go boxes. As for the food, the chicken Alfredo had nice flavor but was a bit watery. On the other hand, the pizza was delicious!

I don’t enjoy critiquing a business but this joint is a shockingly depressing atmosphere with mediocre-at-best pizza. Brought the fam here for dinner a little after 6pm and we were the only ones there, place was completely quiet aside from the hum of the machines, and the entire staff were very clearly wishing to be anywhere else. Pizza came out, the guy gave us some dirty plates (for real, like, still had the visible pizza grease on them from the previous eater 🤯lol) then just evaporated into the back room with the rest of them. Meanwhile the tables behind me were still stacked with the dishes of previous guests. Pretty wild, won’t be going back but hope it improves for future guests!

Extremely disappointed with our visit to Palio’s. We came here at 7:00 on a Saturday and there was one other person in the restaurant which should’ve been our first red flag. The employee at the front was nice but when we asked for wine with our pasta, he let us know that he’s not allowed to serve wine, only beer, and there was no one in the restaurant who could serve wine or bartend. On Saturday night! We then asked about this 15% off dine in promotion we saw on the stores Instagram story and Facebook page, he didn’t know anything about it and had no way to apply a 15% discount. But he found a way to save us some money anyways so it all evened out. Then I got my chicken parm, where the parm was not on the chicken, but fine I ate it. The customer service here was absolutely incredible. The team working today (the day I’m writing this review) was so kind and welcoming. I had just come back from traveling and was really tired, but my nephew went in to order our pizza, and the staff treated him with such warmth and respect. It honestly made our evening. What really stood out was the kindness of the people working there. It’s rare these days to find a place that’s not overly busy yet still goes above and beyond for their customers. We just wanted to take a moment to applaud them for being so friendly and caring. Thank you for making our night better! 🍕❤️
