Panda Restaurant

I patronize this establishment on Saturday. I usually buy my Asian food from Georgetown, South Carolina. Although it is a 45-minute trip, the food was edible, but the taste was off. I've traveled all over the world, so I don't expect the same level of quality in the food in Conway, South Carolina, as in California, New York, or any place in China or Japan. I do expect the quality of food being served to their community in which they live. The rice was mushy. The wings were nice, and the customer service was bare minimum with the female who was at the register, but the male who came from out of the kitchen area was very pleasant. The female cashier only spoke to men of an almond milk complexion, and she never greeted anyone else, especially females, no matter the complexion. I feel that if

I asked for dumplings steamed and then pan fried on one side. I've ordered it from them many, many times. Sometimes i get it that way, sometimes they are only steamed. I called and asked the woman answering the phone why they allow customers to write special instructions on the order but still they make it wrong? Her answer was...the cooks don't speak or understand English. Wait, what?

Was in Conway for an appointment that took too long; we were starving! "Panda" came up on our search, and it was 4 minutes away. Went inside, didn,t expect much. Boy, were we surprised! Hubs ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken combo, I had the Sesame Chicken combo. There was more than enough for a hearty lunch. The fried rice had a delicate smoky flavor, every bite of chicken was tender ( no hard pieces like in most restaurants), and the egg rolls were stuffed full of tender cabbage and shredded meat. The server was friendly and funny, and seemed to have a rapport with everyone who came in. The plates they give you have lids with which you can take leftovers home and microwave; even the reheated leftovers were satisfying. I can see why so many locals frequent this little hideaway! I ordered fried scallops on monday they were burnt overcooked. I went back on Friday in order scallops. I told the lady at the register. Please do not burn them this time when I got home. They were just as burnt as the first time I didn't return them because I had somewhere to be. I was planning on taking them back when I came back from My mind, my husband through them cause they were inedible.This will be the last time I ordered from there.
