This place has improved, The current 4.3 on Google doesn’t do it justice. I’m currently enjoying a sausage and mushroom pie with extra sauce, and it’s legitimately one of the best pies I’ve had in New York or Connecticut. The crust is like true rustic bread, the char is slight and perfect. The mushrooms are exactly the right kind, as someone else touched on in the reviews. Their sauce is really good. The cheese, the sausage… I eat a lot of pizza from a lot of different places, and tonight it was so good that I felt compelled to write a review.
I agree with the other reviewer. We love Popa Als! The pizza is awesome and I try to come by and order a pie for my family at least once a month. The crust, sauce, and cheese is tasty and delicious. I would highly recommend Popa Al's to anyone interested in great food and reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed!!
What a gem! Delicious fresh food with gluten free options. The food came out steaming hot and the service was fast. You can see everything being freshly made. The atmosphere is inviting, I enjoyed the bug windows with views of grass and trees as we dined. I liked that there were had painted murals and welcoming art work on the walls. As soon as we sat down, we were served warm bread and salad. We ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, chicken wings, and meat sauce pasta ($20). All were delicious, the wings were crispy. Lovely experience.
Oh wow, where to start!!! The food there is absolutely, positively amazing. I just loved their jalapeño poppers. Had just the right zing to them. The butter nut squash soup is probably the best I ever had. The lasagna and the lobster ravoli were soooo good. I had to sample everyones so I could share this review with you.We ordered probably one of the tastiest pizzas I have ever had. The chicken Parmigiano was to die for. The group of people sitting next to me were so happy with their dinners. The garlic cheese bread with homemade pasta sauce was so yummy. Their Ceasar salad was delicious. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming. Please try this place. There's limited indoor seating, but they offer a waiting staff and have outdoor seating for bueatiful days.
Papa Al’s was a very unexpected surprise. It is located conveniently a few minutes from my house. Plenty of parking in the front and in the lot. It is located not far from exit 9 on 84. The inside has beautiful decor and some nice paintings. The pizza is what really surprised me. It is probably some of the best Connecticut pizza I have eaten. We got a half regular half Florentine. The regular had some great sauce and cheese. It could give some of the places in New York a run for their money. The Florentine was put together nicely and tasted great. I really enjoyed the ricotta. I may have already found my new pizza spot on the first try. Five stars!
