Papa Lachos Bar & Grill

Papa Lacho’s Bar & Grill looks promising from the outside, and the inside has that familiar Tex-Mex feel—booths, TVs, chips on the table, steady lunch traffic. My meal came out hot and filling, the classic combo plate setup with rice, beans, and a cheese-covered main. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. It’s the kind of lunch that does the job and moves on. What took the shine off was being charged for the green salsa. It’s a small thing, but it changes the tone. Best for a quick, nearby Tex-Mex stop when you’re hungry and not looking for a standout meal.

First and foremost, I’ve been in the area for about four years and when this place opened, I really wanted to try it and finally got the courage to try a new restaurant. I want to take the time to start with the food. It was awesome. Ordered queso with ground beef and was awesome but make sure you get the white queso. I ordered a margarita while my fiancé ordered a beer. Both of our drinks were great and on point. My fiancée got an chimichanga and I got street tacos (birria) . Everything came out so fast that I was really surprised. I love that. And at the end of our meal, we ended it with the free ice cream really tasty Now here’s why I gave it four stars. Great food. Legit Mexican while not being intimidating for gringos. Had a combo plate with tamale, flauta and chalupa. All good. Friendly staff and overall good experience. Decent draft be selection. Some local craft, some Mexican, some domestic.

New on campus and this is THE BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. I was well taken care of by staff and pricing was extremely fair. I was surprised how well the service was because they were busy and I was sitting by myself. Definitely get the queso it comes with the best chips for it and the fried avocado plate with chicken was to DIE for. I’m in love with this place and will be back.

First time at Papa Lacho’s today. Service and our waiter was awesome. The red salsa is delicious and my meal, El Tejano was outstanding in every facet. The menu is expansive; wife had fish tacos with grilled redfish and she was impressed. We will be back 2-3 times a month. Our new favorite restaurant in Huntsville 🥰
