Despite the freezing weather, we were determined to go out and celebrate my friend’s birthday, so we headed to one of our favorite East Village cozy spots. We began by sharing the Chèvre Chavignolle, which was perfect for the table. The warm, slightly melted goat cheese paired beautifully with the sweet balsamic dressing on the salad. We also ordered the classic Moules Marinières, served with an impressively large portion of fries, along with a side of nicely glazed Brussels sprouts to share. I had the salmon with a creamy, buttery sauce that was well balanced. My friend ordered the lobster bisque, which was a bit watery along with the endive salad. The salad was generously sized and easily shareable. The only downside was that we specifically came for the Vegetable Lasagna and Shor
I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve just loved the atmosphere and food here. I typically get the steaks and escargot, though I sadly don’t have a recent photo of that steak. I guess I’ll have to go again. Keep up the great work guys!
I enjoyed their vegetarian lasagna, very flavorful, also my friends ordered sandwich and burger
Came for dinner and sat on the patio in the back. Inside was way too loud for my taste. Overall, food was amazing. The bone marrow and escargots were fantastic, and the mussels (mustard sauce) were phenomenal. I highly recommend all three of those. The steak was not worth ordering. It came sliced, which I don’t prefer. It also was overcooked (I ordered it medium rare but came medium well). In terms of the service… food was very slow to come out. There were several severs running food, refilling waters, etc. which was lovely. While the steak was disappointing, I would come back to order the other items again. I think I’d sit at the bar next time.
My friend and I wandered into this restaurant on a Saturday evening in late November and I thought we were going to grab something quickly. The dining room was crowded but fortunately, we were able to sit at the bar. Antonin Brune, the owner, had a welcoming personality that set the tone for the restaurant. From the professional and friendly staff, wonderful food (I had fish soup, mussels in white wine sauce and chocolate mousse), nice wine selection, and solid music that lingers in the background (yes, you can have a conversation without yelling!), I was transported to Paris for a few hours. I live in Westchester County but will definitely make the trip into NYC to return to "Pardon My French" when I need my Parisian fix!
