This is the definition of an old-school, old-fashioned deli, right down to the atmosphere and the incredibly old-fashioned staff. As someone who drove up looking for a quick, post-work lunch and is used to the quick pace of a city like Chicago, I was thrilled—this place absolutely didn't miss. I was in the area and decided to stop in for a sub. My bf has been coming here for years and swears by this deli as one of the best around. This mom and pop deli is not much to look at from the outside.They have free parking out front with several spots they share with another business. Once inside you can see why they call this place The Parsippany Deli/ Emerald Gifts aka The Irish Deli. As soon as you walk in the front door, they have a glass counter that displays beautiful China from Ireland. They sell teas, marmalade, sausages, bacon, black and white pudding, Irish candies, also Brennan's bread. During the month of March they make and sell homemade Irish Soda Bread. I ordered an egg white sandwich, but when I got home, it didn’t have egg whites. I called and spoke to the owner, and it seemed like he was annoyed that I ordered egg whites. He told me that he doesn’t offer egg whites. I asked why no one mentioned that when I placed the order, and he responded with attitude, acting surprised that I was upset. I would definitely recommend staying away from this place, as the owner clearly doesn’t prioritize customer service.

Phenomenal local treasure. Always a great experience owner and staff are awesome and the food is great! If you’re in the area, definitely stop by!
